Easy Wrapped Vase
Customize an ordinary vase with the help of embroidery floss.
- Glass or plastic bottle
- Thick white crafts glue
- Embroidery floss in desired colors
1. Wash the bottle. Let it dry.
2. Place a dot of glue at the bottom edge of the bottle.
3. Begin wrapping the embroidery floss around the bottle, keeping the wraps close together and applying more dots of glue when needed.
4. To change colors, cut the floss and glue the end in place.
5. Continue making stripes of color like this until the entire bottle is covered with floss. Let the glue dry.

I saw some like these wraped in "rope/twine" at the furniture store, selling for big bucks. Thanks.

My sister and I made these vases about 25 years ago, they are still around. Also, we used yarn. I made small jars with lids (also covered with thread) with the baby yarn (the color variegated kind) to keep diaper pins, q-tips and other things in and gave as baby gifts. Then I made larger jars and called them "Anything Jars" or "Dresser Jars" and gave as gifts, some of my relatives still use these or have pasted them to others in the family. The only difference is that I used alot more glue, maybe that is why they have lasted so long.
