System Requirements:

• Macintosh with a 68020 or greater processor, or Power Macintosh
• 3.5 MB of RAM (5 MB for Power Macintosh) available to Acrobat Reader
• Apple(R) System Software version 7.1 or later

• 8 MB of available RAM
• Apple System Software version 7.1.2 or later
• 12.5 MB of available hard-disk space

1. After printing these instructions, click on the "Get Acrobat" button below.

2. On the Adobe Acrobat Free Reader page, follow the instructions to download the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (registering with Adobe is optional). Then click on the download button.

3. On the page with the heading that reads Downloading and Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader for Macintosh, you'll find 4 files underlined. You just need to download just one file. Try the first file labeled: ard302e.sit.hqx (this is an ftp version) If this dosen't work for you, then try the second file listed labeled: ard302e.sit.hqx (this is an http version).

4. Your browser will then prompt you about opening the file or saving it. Select "save file" and save it on your desktop. Then it will decode and unstuff, leaving just one icon entitled "Reader 3.01 Installer" on your desktop. Other browsers, such as AOL, may save to the default download folder location. To save the file on your desktop, go to "Save As" under the "File" menu bar, then click on the "Desktop" button in the save window and now click on the "Save" button. It may take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to download.

To download the reader now, go to Download Adobe Acrobat.

1. Exit Netscape or whatever browser you are using.

2. Double click on the "Reader 3.01 Installer" icon on your desktop. Follow the instructions on the screen. Unless you are very familar with computers, you should accept the default settings when installing the program. Once the program is installed, you will need to restart your computer.

There is a conflict with MacOS 8.5 and Adobe Acrobat 3.X where Acrobat does not run or causes the system to crash. Both Adobe and Apple are aware of this problem and it will be fixed when Adobe releases the next major upgrade to Acrobat.

In the mean time, to get Acrobat to work with MacOS 8.5 if it is already installed on your computer you must remove the following plug-ins from the Adobe Acrobat 3.0:Plug-Ins folder

• ImportPI
• OCR
• ScanPI

If you plan on installing Acrobat 3.X on a Mac that has OS 8.5 you must do a custom install of Acrobat and DO NOT include Acrobat Capture for installation.

NOTE: Some browsers use the Acrobat "plug-in". You can view and print the downloadable PDF file using the Acrobat plug-in within you browser, but you will not able to save the file for future use. To save the downloadable PDF file requires Acrobat Reader version 3.0 or greater, then follow the procedure below.

1. Select the plan you want to download.

2. Click on link and hold down the mouse button.

3. While still holding down the mouse button a "pop-up" menu will appear like the one shown, now select "Open this Link". Release mouse button.

4. The window shown below will appear, then click on "Save file"
