Knitted Wine Wrap

The bright red yarn and swirling pattern accentuate the handcrafted look of this knitted wine wrap. Fun pom-poms are the perfect way to tie up wine in this cherished wrap.

Base:

With Fisherman, cast on 15 sts. Beg with purl row, work St st for 4". Bind off kwise on RS. Without touching iron to square, steam to block.

Sides:

With Fisherman, cast on 61 sts. Beg and ending with a purl row, work St st to 9" from beg.

Eyelet row: K3, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, k2; rep three more times. Purl 1 row.

Next row: (K14, k2tog) 4 times, k1-61 sts. Cont St st to 11-1/2" from beg, ending with a RS row. Knit 1 row on WS. Bind off kwise on RS. Without touching iron to fabric, steam to block.

Side Definition:

For the 3 center-marked single sts only: Thread blunt-end yarn needle with a long strand of Ranch Red. Make a fold so that 1 marked st protrudes. Backstitch from bottom to top, leaving Garter st border free. Repeat from rem 2 single sts.
