I actually learned how to make the lazy squaw stitch with yarn from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine many years ago!

I don't make my bowls like this. I have done the scrap bowls, vases, but I like to use various yarns and I sew the coils together with the same yarn I wrap with to make the desired shape. Will have instructions on pogirlshines.wordpress.com soon.

I made several of these with scraps and a sewing machine, you can do a placemats too. The machine stitchs through it very easily. I bought the book years ago "Its a Wrap", also a video on you tube. They look very nice with small handles and embellishments.

If you buy cotton clothesline, and cotton fabric, it sews by machine beautifully. Cut strips 3/4 inch, wrap cord, glue about every 12 inches.
