Double Applique

To ease the challenge of turning curved edges, many quilters prefer to face applique pieces. For this, trace each template onto the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out, leaving a 1/4" seam allowance around all the edges.

Place the cut piece, right side down, on a piece of sheer, nonfusible, nonwoven interfacing. Sew all the way around on the drawn line. Trim the interfacing slightly smaller than the fabric and clip inner curves.

Make a small clip in the center of the interfacing. Turn the applique right side out through the clipped opening. Press the piece from the fabric side, making sure no interfacing shows at the edges.
