- Pink crepe paper
- White crepe paper
- Gold spray paint
- Colored paper for "sprinkles": light pink, bright pink, light blue
- White ribbon
Trace your ice cream cone shape out of cardboard and cut with scissors. You will need two sides - one for the front, and one for the back. We freehanded a cone with a rounded top and sides.
Cut a long strip of cardboard, 3-inches thick, to fit all the way around your ice cream cone piñata. Tape the long strip of cardboard all the way around the edges of your ice cream cone shapes, creating the constructed piñata form.
Cut a 3"x3" door on the back of the piñata. Fill with goodies and seal shut with tape.
Cut 2 small holes in the top of the piñata. Run the ribbon through the holes and tie to create a handle for hanging.
Cut your crepe paper into strips and fringe one of the long edges.
Tape each strip on top of one another until your entire piñata is covered. This gives it that layered fringe look. We used white crepe paper for the top and cone, and then pink in the middle. Strawberry ice cream anyone?!
Spray paint the base of the cone to achieve the perfect gold color. Cut colored paper into small rectangular "sprinkles." Tape to the top of the ice cream cone.
