For one napkin

• 16-3/4x16-3/4" piece of 28-count ivory Jobelan fabric
• Cotton embroidery floss in colors listed in key
• Blending filament in colors listed in key
• Metallic thread and braid as listed in key
• Needle; embroidery hoop
• 60" length of 1/8"-wide metallic gold braid
• Metallic gold sewing thread

1. Zigzag-stitch or serge the edges of the fabric to prevent fraying.

2. Measure 1-1/2" from the lower left corner on the fabric; begin stitching the desired motif there. Use three plies of floss to work the cross-stitches over two threads of fabric.

3. Work the blended-needle stitches as specified in the key.

4. Work the backstitches using one ply of floss or one strand of braid.

5. Fold the zigzagged edges under 1/2", mitering the corners, and topstitch close to the raw edge.

6.On the right side of the fabric, position the metallic ribbon over the stitching; machine-zigzag over the ribbon using gold sewing thread.

Note: The napkins are stitched with a single jingle bell or holly motif.
