Button Wreath

Vintage or new buttons give this wreath homespun charm.

Vintage buttons bring winter's icy sparkle to an interior door. Old or new buttons are glued to a straw wreath form, which is first wrapped with grosgrain ribbon.

What You Need

  • 14- to 16-inch-diameter straw wreath form
  • 4-6 yards of 1-1/2-inch-wide white grosgrain ribbon
  • Straight pins
  • Vintage white buttons
  • Tacky white crafts glue
  • 3-inch-wide velvet ribbon for hanging
  • Artificial silver leaf branches (optional)

How to Make It

1. Tightly wrap the straw wreath form with ribbon, completely covering the straw. Pin the ribbon in place. Glue the buttons to the ribbon, spacing the buttons tightly.

2. To hang the wreath, loop ribbon through the center. Bring the ribbon over the top of the door or to the hanging point on the wall, and tack or staple it in place, leaving long tails to dangle back down. Trim the tails to a V shape. If desired, tuck silver branches into the loop.
