Peppermint Party

Begin decorating with a chocolate-brown tablecloth. Add a red runner down the center of the table for a pop of peppermint color.

Editor's Tip: If you don't have a red runner, this look can be easily re-created by folding a red tablecloth. Line the runner around the edges with white rickrack -- no sewing required!

Sweet Setting

Silver chargers, simple white plates, and red-and-chocolate napkins make for a pretty place setting that party-goers will love.

All Wrapped Up

Make napkins look like gifts by folding them into 5-inch squares. Then wrap them with a band of decorative paper and ribbon. To finish the look, tie on gift tags, which also can double as place cards.

What a Treat!

Embellish the bottom of the glasses with a band of white or red ribbon, and hang a candy cane over the edge.

Editor's Tip: For more sweet treats, create a themed sweets buffet with trays of chocolate truffles, white chocolate covered pretzels, sugar cookies, and cupcakes. Drizzle melted chocolate and red and white frosting on top.

Contemporary Centerpiece

For the centerpiece, fill a large glass vase with contemporary red and brown potpourri. It's super simple -- and it looks great!

Light the Night

Next, warm the party up with some candlelight. Place two brown pillar candles on short-footed glass pedestals on either side of the centerpiece. Embellish candles with decorative paper and ribbon, and hot-glue an opaque white vase gem to the center of the candle.

Editor's Tip: Paper-wrapped votive holders look adorable and add a variety of heights to your candy-coated table.
