Candles lend unexpected glow.

  • Peat moss
  • Plastic-foam ball, such as Styrofoam
  • Spray adhesive
  • Crafts knife
  • Terra-cotta flowerpots
  • Candle
  • 1 1/2-inch-wide ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Thick white crafts glue

Instructions:

1. In a well-ventilated work area, attach small sections of peat moss to a plastic-foam ball with spray adhesive. Let dry.

2. Using a crafts knife, cut a hole in the center of the peat moss, large enough to insert a candle.

3. Set the topiary in a terra-cotta pot. Place the candle in the opening. Tie a ribbon bow and glue it to the rim of the terra-cotta pot.

Note: Never leave a burning candle unattended.
