What You Need:
- Tracing paper
- Water-soluble marking pen
- Pink flour-sack towel
- Embroidery hoop
- Embroidery needle
- DMC embroidery floss: 1 skein each of white, brown (3863), and burgundy (815)
- White four-hold buttons: one 3/4-inch and one 1-inch
How to Make It:
Enlarge the pattern onto tracing paper. Tape the pattern to a sunny window or light box. Tape the towel over the pattern, centering the design 2 1/4 inches from the bottom (front) edge of the towel. Using the marking pen, trace the pattern onto the towel.
For the snowman, attach buttons as indicated by broken-line circles on the pattern using embroidery stitches to secure. On the 1-inch "body" button, stitch a burgundy cross-stitch through the holes. On the 3/4-inch "head" button, use a burgundy straight stitch for the mouth and two brown French knots for eyes. Carefully press the finished piece.
