What You Need:
flowers hanging from a
sparkling tree or put a
tussie-mussie on a doorknob or
- Fresh flowers
- 7- to 8-inch-long plastic-foam cone
- 2-inch-wide wire-edge organdy ribbon
- Corsage pins
- 2- to 3-inch florist's vial
1. Cover the plastic-foam cone by wrapping it with the wire-edge organdy ribbon. Start at the tip, folding the ribbon over it and pinning to secure.
2. Continue wrapping the organdy ribbon over the cone, securing it at intervals with corsage pins. To provide dimension, randomly fold the ribbon edges and bunch the ribbon to create softness.
3. Pin the ribbon edges to the top of the cone. Fill the florist's vial with water, insert the flowers, and push the vial into the flat end of the cone (first make a starter hole with a screwdriver).
4. Pin additional fabric bows around the flowers to cover the flat part of the cone.
Note: If you wish, use clusters of artificial flowers instead of fresh flowers. Omit the florist's vial, and simply push the wire stem into the flat part of the plastic-foam cone.
