Hello! I’m Tracy Benjamin, I write Shutterbean.com where you’ll find simple, satisfying recipes. I believe in two things – life is better with good food and the key to a great party is an awesome cocktail. With that being said, I was honored to create two cocktail recipes for Better Homes & Gardens this month!
In June, I traveled down to Los Angeles from the San Francisco Bay Area to be apart of this magazine shoot. It was such a blast to be able to spend the day with my good friends. I think the biggest takeaway from the day was experiencing how wonderfully organized the project was. As someone who loves organizing and planning, it was fun to see how everyone who was apart of the shoot setup their tools. When I look through my photos from that day, you can see that a few things that caught my eye.
Here’s makeup. All of the tools that helped us accentuate our assets. We spent a lot of time together chatting while having our hair & makeup done. I’m usually working in an office or with my family, so you can imagine how luxurious this felt.
In the kitchen, while the food stylist created our recipes, I fell in love with this organized pantry. Could it be anymore perfect?
Here we have just 1/20th of the prop selection. There was a whole table set out of all of the beautiful pieces we would potentially use in the shoot.
I loved watching the process of setting the table. I loved the idea of setting all of the items on cutting boards that could be taken away /added to throughout the night. I will definitely be using this trick for future get-togethers at my house.
My favorite part of the day was tasting the cocktails I created for the spread. What an amazing feeling to see them at the table!
Thank you for such an amazing opportunity, BHG. I am so grateful to be working with you and thank you to the entire team who put this project together!
