Besides being full of blooming flowers, green grass and the promise that summer is fast approaching, spring brings with it a broadening of wardrobe choices. Skirts, blazers, tiny dresses and strappy sandals quickly become closet staples–and statement necklaces are an accessory that can add a whole lot of punch with little effort. Check out these five tips and tricks for wearing your favorite statement pieces this spring!

If you read regularly, you know I love bold patterns and bright colors. Mix the two together in one accessory with this wonderfully green statement necklace from Pop of Style. And yes, you’d look good in those polka dots, too.

If you’re worried about looking too flashy for the office–don’t. This elegant ensemble from Stylishly Me proves that fashion and business really do mix.

If simple is more your style, you can still make statement pieces work for you. Check out how the blogger behind Create Bake Celebrate wore a pop of color with her necklace for a weekend away. Chic, classic and clean, this look is great for any event.

Floral never really goes out of style–and you can jump on the bandwagon with this fabulous rose statement necklace I spotted on SHY Boutique. The best part? You can choose a color that’s as bright or as subtle as you want.

If casual is more for you, spice up any comfy outfit with this metallic beauty from Camp Patton. I won’t even try to hide how much I absolutely LOVE those Oxfords!

Feeling ready to get some staple statement pieces now?

Happy spring!

Spring is upon us, and with that comes the season of tanned legs and cute dresses. This week I rounded up some of my favorite dresses and skirts from the Internet to share with you all. Because nothing welcomes spring like an adorable addition to your closet!

I love the look of this flowy maxi skirt from Hello Copeland. Perfect for a day out and about, this pastel beauty will leave you looking gorgeous from the moment you step out the door.

If Southwestern is more your look, check out this gorgeous dress from Wedding Party. Wear with your favorite boots or sleek pair of pumps and you’ve got a style that will wow!

Simplicity can never be overrated. Pure white–although it can be intimidating for those of us who are prone to slips and spills–creates a timeless, chic look. This white wonder from The VivaLuxury is absolutely flawless.

Bright colors are a natural segue into spring–and this vibrant green and white dress from Fashion Ekstrax proves it. And those heels are to die for!

For a bolder look, try this turquoise patterned dress from Living In Yellow. The rope belt and jewelry ties (you see what I did there?) the outfit together with flying colors!

So what do you think? Are these dresses the perfect fit for spring?

Go forth and look pretty!

Hopefully by now you have seen the announcements and taken some time to soak up Better Homes & Garden’s 2015 Color Palette of the year.  It is SO fresh and pretty!

The moment I spotted the deep hued grays and greens paired with flirty pinks and a playful tealy blue, I found myself noticing that I already use many of the beautiful and bold colors throughout our home.  In fact, seeing them all pulled together in one inspirational photo gave me a few new ideas for upcoming room makeovers we will be working on.  Thank you BHG!

Being the storage loving gal of the group, I decided that I would pull a few fab “color palette of the year” organizational products that can be used to jazz up and organize any room in the home!  Enjoy!

Color trend: Moody, Inky Hues

Don’t worry – I know spring is all we can think about so what gives?  Go on and go full on light, airy and sweet this spring and summer.  Pastels, metallics and plenty of white are still having their moments in the sun.  If you are like me, you are always looking for what is coming around the bend.  I expressed my total love affair (ok borderline obsession) with navy here.  My thing for navy and its status as an important color du jour are both still going strong.  This year gorgeous navy is getting some rich and moody friends.  Look for deep merlot, olive green, saturated true reds, and rich deep teals as a couple of the key colors for this year.  Yummy camel toned leather items will also be great pops of color and texture.

Spring is right around the corner! It won’t be much longer before we’re all outside, soaking up some sunshine and playing in the sand. For the few weeks of dreariness we have left, brighten things up with an at-home mani pedi. Show off some adorably painted fingers and toes this spring with these cute ideas!

If dark is your color, add some sparkle with this silver line nail art from Styles Time. I love the classic look mixed with a modern spin.

I love the minimalist look of this white nail with black tips I found on We Heart It. This design is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s for a glamorous night out or a day at home.

Want some more spunk? Take a look at these cuties–polka dotted chaos from Beauty High. I can’t get over how simple and colorful this style is!

I’ve always wanted to try a reverse french tip. For a good tutorial, look no further than this blue and gold beauty from The Lacquer Log. Simple and elegant, this color palette makes for timeless sophistication.

And now for my favorite: I am absolutely in love with this silver and gold style on Lulu’s. Classy but fun, this look just screams summer!

See you back here next week!

Happy Valentine’s Day (a day early)! If you’re like me, you’ve already spent way too much time thinking about what you want to wear for your special night–as well as the thought that red is really not your color. But I’m here to prove you wrong! I’ve rounded up a list of some outstanding outfits that all revolve around bold reds!

Every woman needs a good blazer. Dress up a casual outfit with a bright red blazer like this one on Wendy’s Lookbook for a look that grabs the attention of everyone nearby. Wear along with a cute pair of pumps and some dark skinny jeans and you’ll be looking stunning all night long.

I like the simplicity of this red top I spotted on Lunchpails and Lipstick. This statement shirt is the perfect piece for the women out there who need a little less complication in their lives. Plus side: you’ll look gorgeous.

I love this red skirt on Pink Peonies. Find a matching hue of red lipstick and you’re in business. The best part about this flawless ensemble? It’ll go with almost any top you already have in your closet!

Already have your Valentine’s Day outfit picked out but looking to add a cute twist? These heart elbow patches I found scrolling through A Southern Drawl take this sweater from great to glamorous! And that tulle skirt? Adorable.

And lastly, red and pink are BFFs in the color world. While two bright colors might seem intimidating, don’t be scared off! This cute outfit on Gal Meets Glam takes the best of both worlds and puts them into one fabulous outfit! You’ll look amazing, don’t worry.

Have a happy happy Valentine’s Day, Style Spotters! Whether you’re out with you sweetie or rocking it with your girlfriends for a fun night on the town, look amazing doing it!

Erin
