Wait a minute. I blinked and it was August. WHAT? I hope the summer has been nothing short of spectacular so far! I’ve said several times that I love love LOVE bright colors, so today I thought I’d share with y’all some of the cutest, most colorful stuff I found on the internet this week (a major job perk here at BHG–I so enjoy being able to browse gorgeous blogs and photos every day).
Adding color to your life isn’t as hard as you think. Transform a regular glass vase into a textured, eye-catching centerpiece for family and friends to adore with this beaded candle holder and vase DIY from Homey Oh My!
For those of us whose glass table DIY-ing skills aren’t quite up to par, try your luck at making a modern coat rack like this one from Brit + Co. After you build it, you’ll obviously need to go but a new coat or hat to try it out with.
Have a great weekend, Style Spotters!
Lately, I’ve been seeing a resurgence of using a classic primary palette to create a playful and fun child’s space. (Check this one out, for example!) This color scheme makes for a great neutral space, and also has a bit of a nolstagic feel with the throwback colors. Leave your walls white and bright to keep it from feeling overly juvenile, and you’ll have a happy room you’ll love spending time in. Adding in a small collection of vintage toy cars and trucks would make for a really fun detail, as well.

Have you notices pineapples popping up everywhere? They seem to be a favorite this season, and with summer making its warm appearance, they are the perfect accent, and also pair perfectly with rattan. Pineapples are a symbol for hospitality and are a natural fit in home decor. Below are some ideas for incorporating this happy fruit into a baby nursery.

I’m loving the explosion of flowers in springtime, and always find it so inspiring, don’t you? My super talented friend Ashley Woodson Bailey just opened a shop to sell prints of her gorgeously moody flower photography, and it’s a great springboard for a room design. I’m especially loving this Neon Bash print, which has a hint of that radiant orchid everyone is talking about this year, and is perfect paired with neutral wood finishes and pops of yellow. Do y’all have spring fever as much as I do? It’s getting really gorgeous here (Atlanta) and I just want to be outside in it! Here is a room inspired by the spring that’s in the air, with a vintage west coast skateboarding feel that would work for a girl or a boy. (How cute is that tank?!) Check out last year’s spring fever post, too. Sources listed below image.

Copper is on its way to becoming the new darling of home decor. Gold is still fantastic, but copper is a great alternative or complement to just shake things up a bit. It’s still a little hard to find, but you can get crafty with a can of copper spray paint or some copper tubing (check out this end table DIY and this laptop stand DIY!) until you can find it in more places. I’m loving the pairing of copper and sweet shades of peach; it would make for a really lovely and modern nursery!
