get the look: candy coated cozy

Trend: Pale Pink & Gray

I couldn’t help but be inspired by the lovely palette posted by Kirsten yesterday.  It makes for a great nursery, especially with the special edition caravan crib (which won’t be available for long – it’s just out for the summer!).  Paired with a soft gray, it becomes cozy and inviting as we approach (hopefully) cooler weather.pink baby nursery inspirationSources, from left to right: (1) Cardigan pendant; (2) Yes, Yes, & Yes; (3) Beauty in the Imperfect; (4) Deer Herd; (5) Let’s Swim to the Moon; (6) Peachy Keen Pillows; (7) Pink Caravan Crib; (8) Kiss Me; (9) Gray Dresser; (10) Bee; (11) Pink Landscape; (12) Cleo Lamp; (13) Graham Glider; (14) Gray Rug; (15) Pink Dipped Pouf

get the look: indigo and dip-dye

TREND: Shades of indigo and dip dyed fabrics.

I keep seeing indigo and tie-dyed, hand-dyed fabrics popping up everywhere.  It’s a nice fit with all the chambray and denim on denim everywhere in fashion.  If you like the look, here are some ways to incorporate it into a nursery (maybe even try some pieces yourself - might be fun to try it on a crib sheet!).  I like the juxtaposition of this look with some more polished, clean lines to keep it from getting too overdone. indigo nursery ideasSources, from top left: (1) Turning Pendant; (2) Indigo Blue Painting; (3) Jet Set; (4) Sunset; (5) Constellation Gardens Hoop; (6) Nashville Blueprint; (7) Blue Abstract Painting; (8) Shibori Print; (9) Denim & Cork Pillow; (10) Natural Sparrow Crib; (11) Denim & Cork Pillow; (12) Gold Rock Lamp; (13) Walnut Dresser; (14) Ikat Pillow; (15) Wood Print; (16) Indigo Rail Dhurrie; (17) James Harrison Chair; (18) Curtain Panels; (19) Crib Sheet; (20) Dhurrie Pouf

Get the Look: a Little Superhero Nursery

Trend: Superheroes + Little boys.  (Isn’t that always a trend?)

With summer blockbuster superhero movies at the theaters, it seems superheroes are on the mind.  I have gotten quite a few requests for superhero boards, so here is a fun and fresh take on a room that will hopefully make little supermen in training and mamas happy.  Go with vintage superhero artwork, and pair it with crisp white and fresh hues of aqua and yellow to keep it light and playful without feeling too juvenile. (Also, check out the Avengers board from last summer!)superhero nursery inspirationSources, from top left: (1) White Pendant; (2) Superman Bunting; (3) Superhero Letter; (4) Hooks for hanging capes; (5) Batman poster; (6) Zap; (7) Be Brave; (8) Thor print; (9) Flash Pillow; (10) Skip Crib; (11) Batman Pillow; (12) Superman Poster; (13) Chevy Blue Dresser; (14) Hulk Poster; (15) Vintage Batman Comic Book; (16) White Joya Rocker; (17) Solar Flare Rug; (18) Star Fabric (great for curtains); (19) Gold Dot Crib Sheet; (20) Dynamic Duo; (21) Captain America Poster

Get the Look: Black and White Delight

Trend: Black and White AccentsBlack and white is looking extra fresh these days; to update a room or add a little polish, try putting one of these graphic accents into the mix.  Black & white art in a nursery is a great addition as babies love staring at the contrast.  Just don’t put it over their bed!
