i spy: a small bath packed with style

Written on September 1, 2012 at 8:31 am , by

Spotted! A small bath with style to spare.

Who says you have to skimp on style in a small bathroom? If you’re tackling a makeover, take a cue from this sophisticated bath. Classic elements–marble subway tile, a chrome faucet, and a three-light vanity fixture–create a timeless foundation, while a bold botanical shower curtain and a blocky open vanity give the room a modern edge. Swap out accessories, such as hand towelsbaskets, and plants to update the look on a whim.

PS: To complete the look, add this mirror, this towel holder, this showerhead, and this toilet.

I Spy: Tree Stump Tables

Spotted! A trio of tree stumps standing in for a coffee table.

A tree stump table is always a great addition to a room, but a grouping of them is especially fantastic. There are a lot of trees out there to choose from, and you can find one (or more!) of your own from Real Wood Works’ Etsy shop.

I Spy: Bentwood Chairs

Spotted! Modern white chairs paired with a round wooden table.

The stripped down, clean lines of bentwood chairs are a great offset to traditional dining tables like this one. The mix keeps it interesting!

i spy: smart small bathroom storage

Spotted!  A small bathroom storage solution that is one for the books!

When working in small or tight bathroom spaces, it’s important to think outside of the typical bathroom storage box.  Using a wall spine bookshelf to hold baskets, towels and toiletries is a great space saving alternative to larger bathroom etagere cabinets.

I Spy: Canopy Bed Made Quirky

Written on May 29, 2012 at 11:20 am , by

Spotted! A traditional canopy bed in a young girl’s room.

There are several words come to mind when one thinks of a canopy bed, but quirky is not usually one of them. The bed above is just that though! The addition of ornaments hung at different levels to take what could have been a fussy, formal bed and make it appropriate (and fun) for a young girl.
