5 Amazing Painted Nightstand Makeovers
Hi everyone! My name is Bre, and I blog over at Brepurposed where I share my love of design and DIY. What started out as a blog about flipping furniture has turned into so much more. I’m constantly discovering my style and have my hands full after a recent move into a new home. I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for furniture makeovers and couldn’t be happier that it led me down the path of making one of my dreams come true of being featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine’s “I Did It!” section!
Pick up the October issue to see my dresser makeover, showcased above. I’m still pinching myself that it actually happened, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my other furniture projects. Here are a few of my favorite nightstand makeovers that I’ve done. Hope you enjoy!
Scandinavian Pink French Provincial Nightstand
Use two colors of paint to get a layered look. After you distress the piece, the layers of paint help give dimension and character. Add in a fun surprise by lining the inside of the drawer with fun patterned paper.
Two-Toned Geometric Chest of Drawers
Add a custom design to your nightstands using a stain and paint combo. With a little bit of painters tape, you can create a beautiful geometric pattern that pops. The possibilities are endless, and there’s really nothing better than the satisfaction of pulling off the tape and seeing that clean, crisp line, am I right?
Distressed Nightstand with Burlap
Add beautiful contrast to a nightstand by staining the top and painting the rest. It helps bring out the wood undertones that peek through the paint and gives furniture a rustic look. Wrapping a piece of burlap over part of the drawer front and adding a fun new knob is the perfect way to bring the look together.
Painted Table with Fabric-Covered Drawer
Add a pop of color or pattern to a painted piece of furniture by covering the drawer front with fabric. It’s a great way to create a custom piece that fits your style!
Don’t be afraid to make a statement and go bold. Painted furniture is one of the best ways to bring a pop of color into a room, and a nightstand is the perfect piece to try it on. It’s not as large as a dresser and won’t feel overwhelming. Keep the rest of your decor somewhat neutral to really let it shine.
One of the best parts about painting furniture is finding the perfect piece that someone else thought was trash. Next time you’re driving and see an old table on the side of the road, I challenge you to pull over and pick it up. Grab your paintbrush and let your creative juices flow! Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Even smelly, old furniture ;)
I’d love for you to come visit me at my blog and check out some of my other DIYs and furniture makeovers!
