15 Fabulous Ideas To Give Your Walls Instant Vintage Charm

Every year come early spring {after a long winter of being cooped up inside} I am so ready to hit any outdoor sale that will yield amazing vintage finds. It is so much fun to comb through years of history to discover a piece or 2 that you fancy & feel connected to. This summer I began bringing my 9 year old with me, who already has a well defined love of history. He has become my little sidekick and it has been incredibly exciting to unearth really cool old things together. The hunt & capture is the fun part, often there is an uncertainty of where to put these treasures when you get them home. The thing I adore about vintage styling is that there are no real rules just ways to find balance. So here are 15 fabulous ideas to incorporate vintage items to your walls that will give them instant charm…..

  1. This post was so GREAT! I’m working on a vintage gallery wall now and just hung colorful flea market paintings on our kitchen backsplash. You’ve shown how you can make really unique spaces…and its fun. Love that you have a little sidekick on your hunting adventures. :)

  2. So much to see, so much to cram in my mind, so many gorgeous goodies. Love all these as there are things in each photo to glean ideas from. Pinning each and every photo. Great post, look forward to more.
Just finished cleaning our room, (boy am I embarrassed to realize how much it needed a good one). Hung some empty frames, need to repaint couple of frames I used but wanted to let frames hang til I got used to how they look where I put them, can give them quick spray paint to freshen
Getting ready to paint walls in our room, will wait for True Value to have paint I want on sale again. To get decent paint have to pay small fortune now days. Will be painting a small dresser, end table, waterfall chif-a-robe. Waited to see many photos of furniture on blog land to be sure what I wanted.
Found perfect color for walls, a gorgeous coral, using a washed out apple green on furniture.
Love this post. So glad you were chosen to be a spotter. Will have to visit other spotters’ blogs. Happy week

  3. I enjoyed seeing the vintage maps. I have some of these saved and have been considering wallpapering our powder room with them. I also just repainted a cabinet for my daughter who travels and decoupaged each drawer with a map of a country she has lived in. Turned out great!

  4. I picked up a large NatGeo map of the USA at a flea last week for $5. Heading to Michael’s with my 80% off framing coupon!!
