get the look: paint it black

It seems going bright and white is a common trend these days, but I’ve been seeing a few dark rooms here and there that I find very inspiring.  I’m trying to talk my husband into painting our living room black.  I think it would be pretty amazing, but he’s not buying it quite yet, so we’ll see!  Jordan and Lesley‘s recent bedroom redos are both great examples of darker walls that make for cozy rooms that are anything but drab.  Everything pops off the dark background and it certainly makes for a calming, comforting place to sleep (always a plus with tiny ones!).  Use a light colored rug, light artwork, and metallic finishes to keep it interesting.  Here is a little inspiration:
