The Hottest Trends for You and Your Home

Hi, I’m Julie Blanner, the voice behind Coordinately Yours, a lifestyle blog filled with do-it-yourself inspiration for effortless entertaining, home design and thoughtful gift-giving. As a seasoned event planner I enjoy keeping the holidays beautiful and simple, integrating old and new. I’m excited to share a glimpse of my Thanksgiving preparations with you today!

Thanksgiving table setting

This Thanksgiving, I wanted to add a little unexpected color and detail to the table, while keeping with some tradition. While aiming for beautiful decor, my main goal is to make guests feel at ease. That’s why I included washed linens – napkins guests can use without fear. They also eliminate the need to iron! I added a sprig of rosemary as a symbol of remembrance for those who are no longer with us.

For the past 8 years, we have been using Thankful For cards. I always look forward to taking a moment to truly be grateful and hearing what others are grateful for. It’s also fun looking back through previous years. This year, I am also including a word search to keep guests occupied so if I’m running a little behind, I won’t feel so rushed.

Wood chargers fill the head of the table with added warmth and color. I am also using rented vintage china. It is not only inexpensive, but also makes clean up a breeze {just rinse and they’ll pick up!} This breaks up the monotony of using my standard set.

Decor elements include found antlers, a wispy floral arrangement {designed by friend and florist Erin Volante, and a last minute gathering of favorite quotes and photographs.

To keep the table cozy, I also add my favorite throw and pillows. I always set up a bar so that guests can serve themselves. A pitcher of water, wine and a signature apple cider cocktail which can be spiked with vodka, keeps guests refreshed while the turkey is being carved. A few snips of a tree branch add beautiful Fall color.

I tend to use timeless and versatile pieces that transition from the dining room to kitchen or family room. You can find my favorite things here!
