Window Frame Inside a Shower

What you can do to finish a window frame inside a bathroom shower.

Question:

What kind of paint would give the best protection for the woodwork of a window in the middle of our bathtub/shower area?

Answer:

Unfortunately, any type of paint will ultimately fail in a high-moisture area such as a shower. To achieve the longest-lasting finish, sand to bare wood and apply an oil-base primer followed by two coats of alkyd paint. If you replace the window, vinyl would be a better choice than wood because vinyl never needs to be painted.
