1. Hi I live in the western suburban of Chicago and have Shasta and black eyed Susan daisys. When do I need to cut them back? Do I cut them level with the ground? Do I but a cone over them to protect them for the Winter or not? They are looking terrific and still flowering in mid November? Am I doing something wrong? Eventually I wan them to cover the entire front garden so I am sprinkling the seed tops. Do you have anyu other suggestions for me. What would grow well wit
Hi You can leave both plants alone till spring if you like. Or, after a freeze kills this year's foliage, you can prune then. It's really up to you. A lot of folks like the look of the old flower hea...

3. mom has centruy plant growing in front yard, it is mid-novenber and plant has rack of blooms. need to know how long they last, should they be pruned off or the whole stalk with blooms pruned off as there will be an unsightly area of the plant left when the blooms/blossoms are out of season.
Hi Well how long the blooms last depends entirely on the weather. But, overall, these flowers can last for several weeks. It just depends on wind, moisture, etc. Wait till the entire stalk has finish...
4. Hi, I have 3 gravesites that need planting and ideas. I have searched everywhere and cannot find anything that would be good. It would need low to no maintenance,and color would be nice. The 3 sites are all foot stones. Which means that they are not standing monuments. They are flush with the ground.I live in Ohio, I think that the zone is 3 or 5 but not sure. I can send pictures if needed. Thank You Kelly
