Grapes in planters

I planted a Canadice Grape vine and a Concord Grape vine in separate planter the same day. The Canadice has grown almost 3 feet and the Concord has all but died. Do some types of vines grow well in planters while others do not? Also, the planters are about 12 inches deep. Can they do well and produce grapes in that size of container?

Hi, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but neither of those grapes will survive in a pot that size. In fact, grapes really need to be planted in the ground to be successful, especially in locations where winters drop below freezing. i'd take that Canadice grape and get it into the ground. Grapes do not make good container plants.
