Is it safe for me to serve a cheesecake that was accidentally left out on the counter?

I baked a cheesecake yesterday and took it out of the oven at 1:30. I wanted to let it cool fully before putting it in the fridge, and then forgot about it, so I ended up not refridgerating it until 7:30. Is it still safe to serve to people tomorrow?

Sorry, we don't recommend that you serve this cheesecake. Foods made with eggs and milk such as pumpkin pie, custard pie and cheesecake, must first be safely baked to a safe minimum internal temperature of 160 °F. Then, they must be refrigerated after baking. Eggs and milk have high protein and moisture content and when these baked products are left at room temperature, conditions are ripe for bacteria to multiply. It's not necessary to refrigerate most other cakes, cookies or breads unless they have a perishable filling or frosting.

I usually bake my cheesecakes in the evening. After baking, I leave the cheesecake on the counter to cool overnight before cooling in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours before serving. This was per the recipe I use and I have never had a bad cheesecake or anyone get ill from one. They turn out lovely and yummy.

All of the cheesecake recipes I have read(this is from the Cake Bible) bake for one hour leave in oven for 1 hour do not open door. remove from oven and leave at room temp. for at least 2 hours before refrigerating, overnight at least before serving. I have followed this practice for MANY years and noone has EVER gotten ill. I believe the experts cannot have printted the recipes this way if they were not confident also. thank you
