Gardening in the Southwest
can I have an English style garden in Phoenix, AZ?

Hi, i don't recommend it because most of the plants necessary to create that look require lots of water and cool temperatures. i recommend you investigate plants that can tolerate the heat and dry conditions of Phoenix. Plus, I think with a little creativity you can probably get a variation on an English garden by using native grasses, succulents, etc. Keep in mind, part of the "look" of an English garden are the surroundings (picket fence, arbor, etc). You can still do those type of landscape tricks, but use plant material that makes sense for Arizona.
