Lilac leaves have white film
My lilac bush appears to have a white film on some of the leaves. It did not have any blooms this spring but appears to be growing OK. I am located in central Illinois. Do I need to treat the bush? This was the second or third season for the bush.

Your lilac has powdery mildew, a common fungal disease. It usually requires no treatment. However, it might be an indication that your plant is getting too much shade or that there is poor air circulation in the area.
