Ground cover that grows best with foot traffic
I heard Paul James talk about "steppers," which are a ground cover that grows better the more it is walked on. I can't find anyone who has them or has even heard of them! I have a "dog wallow" that needs something like this. Did I dream it?

Hi,

Thanks for writing. I've never heard of a groundcover that grows better the more you step on it. I do know that there are several groundcovers that will tolerate a fair amount of foot traffic. They include:

  • Rupturewort (Herniaria)
  • Blue star creeper (Isotoma)
  • Mazus
  • Thyme
