Where to plant a Magnolia bush
I just recently bought a "little gem" magnolia bush and I need advice on where to plant it. I was told the best location is on the Northern side of the house. That area of the house is where I grow my flowering plants because it gets the most sun. If I plant my magnolia there it will shade the one area of the yard that gets sun (afternoon sun). Should I plant it there? I live in Southeastern Pa. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi, Well magnolias like sunshine, so I would not plant it on the north side of the house. You just want to be sure to plant it in a sunny spot that's protected from harsh winter winds and beating down summer heat.
