no bloom hydrangea
I have 3 young hydrangea plants that I cannot get to bloom. We have had them in the ground for a year now but no blooms. I haven't been pruning them becasue they seem too small. What am I doing wrong. Judy in Pgh.

Thanks for writing. If they're young and small, the plants may still be working on getting established. I'd recommend patience, as tough as it can be.

In the meantime, also be sure they're getting some morning or filtered sunlight (hydrangeas often don't bloom well in deep shade).
