My cantelope was rotten on the side that sits on the ground. Why did this happen. It was not fully the right color inside either.
Hi, Sometimes melons, when they sit on the ground, will rot. It just happens. As your crop develops, it often helps to sit the developing fruit on an old shingle, piece or carpet or board to keep them from making contact with the moist soil. And, of course, when they rot, the insides are off color.
