Rose of sharon shrub
Brookston Indiana. We have a rose of sharon bush that has always been beautiful,a ew weeks ago we notice it was as if it had split in the center and slowly sagging, and starting to die. What is wrong with it and what can we do to help it ,we even went around it with string to pull it back together which did not work. what can we do? thanks

Hi,

Thanks for writing. If the plant was damaged (perhaps from strong winds?) and stems cracked, your best bet is to prune out the damaged areas and let the plant recover on its own. There's not really anything you can do to force it to recover more quickly.
