Transplanting hydrangea
I have a black-stem hydrangea that I need to move because it's overgrown it's space. When and what are the procedures I should use to move it? The ground ball is about 36".

Thanks for writing. There's nothing special you need to do --- just dig the plant out, keeping as much of the rootball intact as possible. Get it planted in its new spot right away and keep it watered well for several weeks after transplanting to help it get adjusted.
