Poor lawn
I live in Bethel,OH. I have aberdine soil. High water content. Under trees poor grass and alot of what seems to be crab grass. Some seems to great some not so great. What type of grass mixature can I get to be able to have a lush lawn. Would love to have a soft lush green lawn. This would affect about 2 1/2 acres. Alot of grass. usually mow once gets about 3 to 4 inches high. Do not keep real low due to heat in the summer.

The best solution for lawns that encompass a variety of site conditions is to plant a mix of 2 or 3 species. In your location, a mix of bluegrass, tall fescue, and fine leaf fescues (which do better in shade) would be a good idea.

If the trees that are shading your lawn have low hanging branches, you might try pruning the lowest ones to allow more light to reach the ground.
