Dog spots
What is the best way to treat dog spots; and, is there a way to prevent them even during winter months?

Sprinkle the spots with powdered gypsum and then grass seed. Gypsum is inexpensive and available at garden centers. (Year-round devoted garden centers are more likely to carry gypsum than the big box stores.) Gypsum can help flush the urine through the soil profile. There isn't much you can do to prevent them during the winter, but precipitation may help dilute the urine and minimize the problem.
