winter care
I have a beautiful bougainvillea in a hanging basket and I would like to know if I can bring this indoors for the winter and if I can what is the best care I can give it? Also, should I prune it back for the winter? I assume I would water it less and give it as much sunlight I can inside the home. I live in Virginia and I know I can't plant it outside and expect it to live. We have some snow (if we are lucky) but do have below freezing quite a bit.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. You can bring bougainvillea inside --- it likes a bright spot. Let the soil dry between waterings --- bougainvillea would rather be too dry than too wet, especially inside.
