Repotting Bamboo
I have a bundle of Lucky Bamboo that has always been in the vase of water that it was in when I bought it several years ago. It is getting too top heavy for the vase and I'd like to re-pot it in soil. I'm not sure what type of soil that bamboo should grow in, or should I just move it to a larger vase?

Lucky bamboo is actually a type of dracaena, Dracaena sanderiana, also sometimes called ribbon dracaena. It can quite easily be grown in potting soil. Use a good, reliable all-purpose potting soil. Plant it at the same depth as it was growing in water. Keep the soil quite moist at first while the plant adjusts from growing completely in water to growing in soil.
