Caring for ficus trees
I have two ficus trees that are about 10 ft. tall. They are in pots too large to take outside in the summer. Should I water them more than once a week. What about fertilizer? Also, I am wondering if I can plant some low growing plants like small peace lilies and philodendren at the base to make the planting more attractive.
Wow--your ficus trees sound impressive! Watering once a week sounds just right. Every other week, add a liquid fertilizer to the water at half the recommended dosage. Low-growing plants around the base should do just fine. Buy them in the smallest pots you can find so you won't have to dig large holes when transplanting them into the ficus pot.
