You might not be able to find mums this time of year, LouAnn. However, they will start appearing in stores in September. Unfortunately, mums aren't terribly reliable about coming back every year. When you plant them this fall, make sure they're in a sunny spot protected from winter wind, and in soil that is rich but drains well. They may return in spring, but probably won't return every year. Most mums on the market now are bred more for a mounded appearance, not hardiness.
