what's this plant
It's called sweet broom. official name is Cytisus Spachianus I've searched everywhere for info on this shrub. No one knows anything about it. Bought it at the local Home Depot. It's a beautiful shrub with tiny yellow flowers and unusual foliage. Just want to find out more about it and cant believe it's so difficult to find any information on it at all. Thanks, Diane in Ga.

Thanks for writing. Your shrub is a vigorous evergreen shrub with fragrant, golden-yellow flowers in late winter and early spring. It can grow 10 feet tall and wide or so and does best in full sun and well-drained soil. In fact, it's very drought tolerant. It's also sometimes sold by the names Cytisus canariensis and Genista fragrans.
