What do water oak (Quercus nigra) leaves look like?
I have a few small oaks growing in my yard. I may transplant them but I don't know enough about them to do this. Please show me a close up of the leaves on this species and tell me how tall and how wide it may grow? I would also like a picture of one.

Here is a website about water oak with some photos that show the club-shaped leaf. othershttp://www.noble.org/imagegallery/Woodhtml/WaterOak.html
Water oak is easily transplanted in moist soils, as you would guess from the name. It will grow into a large shade tree about 80 feet tall and 40 feet wide. It is a slower grower when young, and will do best if given plenty of room and sun
