Peonies for the South
I love peonies but have been told they will not grow in the south; I live in the Florida Panhandle, about 1 mile from the Georgia line. Are there any peonies that will thrive in our heat & flower? Are tree peonies a possibility? Thanks!

Both herbaceous and tree peonies require an extended period of cold during the winter to push them into dormancy so they can emerge with new flowers in the spring. There are no varieties that I know of that will do well in your region.
