Maple Tree is dropping leaves
My Maple tree in my backyard is shedding its leaves; acting almost like it is autumn. Can you give me some tips as to why this is happening?

The tree must be under some kind of stress. Has there been any construction or digging in the root zone? Could it have been hit by herbicide drift? Is the trunk damaged by lightening/animals/mower bruising? Has the soil level been changed under the canopy? Any of these environmental stressors could cause your tree to drop its leaves. The best thing to do is keep an eye on it and see if it is able to releaf on the bare branches. Don't do any pruning; if the tree does releaf, it will need energy from all of the leafy canopy to recover.

Can you water tree leaves that are dead from neighbor spray of herbicide. I would do it early morning or late evening; not drench, but just spray over tree 2 times.

Took a leaf to Master Gardener...said it was sprayed with a herbicide.....neighbor has tree compay come to spray..the wind was out....I had just planted the tree 2 yrs. ago from a tub I had in backyard...same sun times, hand watered then. Was beautiful, now all dead leaves, but still on the tree. Can I water the leaves in late evening or early morning! When break a branch it is light green.
