trumpet vine
Hi I have what I think is trumpet vine next to my garage and in a few trees. If left uncheck it would cover my garage in just a few yr however my husband kept cutting it down without us knowing what it was till I seen a picture and think that is what it it. About 2-3 in trumpet shaped bright orange flowers that hummingbirds and most especially ants LOVE. We have since tried to get rid of it at the garage even taking a chainsaw to the 4" base root. Keeps coming back and messing up my siding. Help

Hi,

Thanks for writing. Trumpet vines can be very difficult to get rid of. I'd dig out as much of the root system as you can --- then watch for sprouts that come up. Use a paintbrush to apply an herbicide to them; that should help knock back the remaining root system.
