shade tolerant evergeens
Looking for shade-tolerant evergeens for larger foundation plants for the front of my house.

Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) can tolerate light shade. Cedrus atlantica (Atlas cedar)can take partial shade, as do some Hollies (Ilex sp.), although variegated-leaf species need full sun. Japanese umbrella pine (Sciadopitys verticillata) can grow in partial shade. Remember that whatever you plant beneath these trees will have full-shade conditions to contend with as well.
