Purple plum tree
I have a purple plum tree that has been planted for almost a year. It has not grown very much but has blooms. Why is it not growing?

Purple-leaf plum (Prunus cerasifera 'Atropurpurea') should be a fast grower. It grows best in full sun, in well drained soil. Is your tree in a shady location? Does the soil stay water-logged? You may need to improve the drainage. Was the tree planted too deep? The trunk should show some flare at the base. You may need to move the plant and correct the depth.
