Growing monkshood
I can't get monkshood to grow very well. Every spring it starts great, but by summer, it seems to fade away. I add compost to my soil every year and grow it in part shade. What can I do for success?

Sorry to hear about your struggling monkshood. My guess is that the reason they are not thriving in your garden is due to the Iowa summers. These plants like rich, moist, partially shady locations, but do not do well in climates where the temperatures get very high. Hot weather and monkshood do not get along so this might not be the best selection for your garden.
