Forget-me-nots taking over my flower beds
FORGET-ME-NOTS ARE TAKING OVER MY GARDEN, THEY ARE KILLING OFF EVERYTHING GROWING IN THE FLOWER BED. LAST YEAR I PULLED THEM AT LEAST FIVE TIMES, I KNOW I'M NOT GETTING ALL THE ROOTS. SOMEONE AT WORK TOLD ME TO POUR BOILING WATER OVER THE GARDEN, I REALLY DON'T WANT TO KILL EVERYTHING. I KNOW I CAN'T START YET, WE STILL HAVE SNOW, BUT I WANT TO BE READY WHEN I CAN. ANY IDEAS? Do you spread mulch over your garden? If not, that should definitely help. A good 3- to 4-inch-deep layer of mulch should keep the vast majority of forget-me-nots from coming back.
You can also kill just the forget-me-nots by taking a paintbrush, dipping it in an herbicide such as Roundup, and then ""painting"" each forget-me-not. It's less work than pulling them and should kill them.
