dried dead leaves/ Red Barberry
"I just planted a crimson pygmy barberry and it is not doing very well. It looks like from underneath starting at the root from the inside out the leaves have dried all up and the stems look dead. I've been watering as instructed and not sure what to try next. It doesn't look to be getting any better. thanks for your help"

Well it's hard to tell what's going on since I don't know what the situation was when you planted them. If they were healthy to start with, where you planted them (soil, sun,), where you bought them, etc. so it's impossible for me to make a guess as to what's going on. However, it sounds to me like it's an environmental problem (too much water, too little water) rather than a disease."
