Do I cut back?
I have a eupatoriium rugosum. (chocolate joe pye). Do I cut this back in the late fall for winter care or not?

You can leave it in place for the birds to enjoy during the winter or trim it down if you want to. It's up to you. I generally prefer to trim my perennials down after frost so that I don't have so much work in the spring.
